
‘Rail Partners with Ukraine’ Fundraiser Raises £105,847 For Donation Campaign For Ukrainian Frontline Railway Workers
On Tuesday 12 September 2023, the UK-based rail non-profit Rail Partners hosted ‘Rail Partners with Ukraine’, a collective railway fundraiser. The special event in London, in aid of the Global Ukraine Rail Task Force and its food package campaign, raised £105 847 (equals €122 867 and $131 860), which means that approximately 7056 of food parcels can be delivered directly to Ukrainian railway workers and their families
Wheels Of Support: Once Again, The Transport Sector Joins Forces To Help Ukraine Against Russian Onslaught
In a remarkable display of solidarity, the transport sector has once again stepped up to support Ukraine in its ongoing struggle against the Russian onslaught. The international rail and bus operator Go-Ahead Group generously donated two buses from subsidiary companies in Swindon and Luton that have been refitted by Swindon Humanitarian Aid Partnership (SHAP), a dedicated group of local volunteers, to serve as hospital buses in Ukraine. The refitted buses will undoubtedly save lives and provide essential medical care to those affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

Today, the Ukraine Global Rail Task Force continues its campaign to provide food for railway workers at the frontline of Russia’s War of Aggression.
Recently, €100,000 of donations were spent on food packages that are currently being distributed to 6,000 rail workers. Unfortunately, there are still 24,000 more railway workers on the frontline who have not received one yet. Therefore: even more financial donations are needed.

24 February 2023: Today marks one year since the start of Russia's brutal invasion, and the Global Ukraine Rail Task Force pledges to continue its efforts to strengthen the Ukraine Rail sector. We look back with a sense of disbelief at the horrors the people of Ukraine have had to endure this past year. At the same time, we recognise with great pride the bravery courage and endurance Ukrainians have demonstrated. They have inspired the world as they continue to overcome all odds.
