NEW Daytime Passenger Rail Service Between Sweden, Denmark & Germany – Run by an Independent Operator
Independent operator Snälltåget’s Hamburg-Stockholm Central service at Hamburg Hbf.

From 4 May 2026, the independent rail operator Snälltåget will introduce a brand new daytime direct service connecting Stockholm – Malmö – Copenhagen – Hamburg. Departures from both Stockholm and Hamburg in the late morning will bring passengers to their destination the same evening, offering a comfortable, relaxing and climate-friendly way to travel between Germany and Scandinavia.

The new connection will be operated commercially on an Open Access basis, showing how independent operators can enrich Europe’s rail network with additional cross-border choices and innovative services for passengers.

Furthermore, this new daytime service complements Snälltåget’s existing Open Access night train services on the same route.

🎟️ Tickets on sale now: Snälltåget has already opened ticket sales for all services between 4 May and 1 November 2026, including this new daytime train and its popular night services.

Passengers can already book six or more months in advance, giving them exceptional flexibility and long-term planning options – something that travellers increasingly value for both leisure and business trips.

ALLRAIL warmly welcomes this development Secretary General Nick Brooks says“This is a great initiative by Snälltåget – clear proof that independent operators can bring fresh ideas, lower fares and more choice for passengers in cross-border rail.”
