ALLRAIL took part in very open, concrete, and constructive discussions at the high-level event “Cutting Cost in Rail”, co-organised by the Danish Ministry of Transport, Trafikstyrelsen, the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA), the European Commission, and the Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking.
ALLRAIL warmly thanks the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2025 for hosting this important event and for inviting the association to contribute to the discussions.
On behalf of ALLRAIL, Carl Adam Holmberg, CEO of our member operator Snälltåget, participated as an impulse speaker in Workshop B: “Vehicle Authorisation and handling future large-scale retrofits.”
He shared the operator’s practical perspective on how today’s complex and often fragmented vehicle authorisation and retrofitting processes can be streamlined, ensuring that innovation and interoperability go hand in hand with cost efficiency.
Across the programme, key stakeholders from all over Europe exchanged concrete proposals to address the technical, regulatory, and market barriers facing the sector — from interoperability and ERTMS deployment to vehicle authorisation and infrastructure costs.
💡 The shared objective is clear: to make rail transport leaner, smarter, and more affordable, enabling it to fully unlock its potential for passengers, freight, and taxpayers alike.
