
Nick Brooks spoke at the Transport Committee of the UK House of Commons (parliament) on 26th November in the morning, as part of the committee’s inquiry into the new UK Railways Bill that will start to create the renationalised Great British Railways. Among other things, the discussion discovered future access to the railway as proposed by the Bill.
The message to Members of Parliament is simple: If the Bill is about delivering growth and affordability for passengers and taxpayers alike, then private investment, Open Access and a stronger route to real rail devolution must be part of the solution
