As the new EU Regulation on railway infrastructure capacity enters into force, the ERP will provide a much-needed collective operational voice for railway operators and other market participants across Europe.
For new entrants, fair and predictable access to rail capacity remains one of the key barriers to launching and expanding services, especially across borders. That is why it is essential that the ERP reflects the needs of all market actors, including independent operators and smaller organisations.
Together with CER | Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies, ERFA-European Rail Freight Association, FEPORT, Forum Train Europe FTE, International Union of Wagon Keepers (UIP) and UIRR, we call on the European Commission to approve the proposal swiftly, so that the ERP can begin its work without delay and help make the new European capacity framework work in practice from day one.
