ALLRAIL has officially joined the Ad hoc Committee on Legal Affairs and International Cooperation of OTIF-Intergovernmental Organisation for International carriage by Rail and took part of its 9th session in Bern (Switzerland).

From now on, our Legal Officer, Guillem Ochoa, will take part in discussions with stakeholders and Member States in the framework of the COTIF Convention and the relevant Uniform rules.

In particular, ALLRAIL will contribute to work concerning the Uniform Rules concerning the Contract of Use of Infrastructure in International Rail Traffic (CUI) and the Uniform Rules concerning the Contract of International Carriage of Passengers by Rail (CIV).

These Uniform rules are essential for the day-to-day operation of cross-border passenger rail services. They also play an important role from a commercial perspective as Europe moves towards further market opening, including in relation to the proposed EU Passenger Package and the new Rail Capacity Management Regulation, notably the possiblity of future multi-network Framework Agreements.
