Rail already stands as the backbone of low-carbon transport in Europe. Yet unlocking its full potential requires more than infrastructure investment alone.

Better value rolling stock with shorter manufacturing lead times, transparent ticketing, and fair access to track capacity (e.g. for a night train service between Belgium and Spain – have been waiting for years!) remain essential to make rail the natural choice for more passengers.

We engaged with policymakers, stakeholders, and partners from across Europe to explore how a truly integrated, climate friendly mobility system can be delivered – one that is accessible not only in principle, but in practice, for all Europeans.
