On 11th February, ALLRAIL President Elmer van Buuren participated in a roundtable discussion on the need for truly market-oriented capacity management, part of the Capacity Management Summit organised by RailNetEurope (RNE)

During his intervention, he stressed the importance of facilitating cross-border train paths and strengthening coordination between infrastructure managers.

He underlined the key role of transparent and market-driven Framework Agreements, designed in line with actual market needs.

He also pointed out that, although coordination tools at sector level already exist, their use remains insufficiently harmonised by infrastructure managers across Europe. Ensuring consistent and effective application of these tools across Europe is essential to deliver a competitive and efficient rail market.
