ALLRAIL attended AFRA x ADN Mobilités Event

ALLRAIL’s Katharina Dekeyser participated in the joint event Association Française du Rail (AFRA) x ADN Mobilités, dedicated to the key issues of ticketing in the rail market.

On this occasion, ALLRAIL fully agrees with the analysis of Jordan CARTIER, Secretary General of French Transport Regulatory Body (ART – Autorité de Régulation des Transports), on a fundamental point: the global visibility of the rail ticket offer.

Without full and transparent access to all offers, there can be no effective competition, and the sustainability of new entrants to the market cannot be guaranteed.

However, the traveller needs to be able to compare all the existing offers to make an informed choice. This implies clear and balanced rules:

➤ ticketing services must be able to access the inventories of railway undertakings in a non-discriminatory manner;

➤ reciprocally, the railway companies must be distributed without bias.

However, it is clear that competition law is still struggling to keep up with the real dynamics of the rail market.

This is a major challenge if we want to build an open, sustainable market that truly serves passengers.
